You can have fresh home grown tomatoes on Christmas Day!
This tomato is from a plant I put in last March. It’s called Razzle-berry and it produced the most amazing flavor toms for salsa. However, it wasn’t well adapted for our area because the fruit would crack before ripening. So, I experimented with removing green toms and letting them ripen inside. The plants died back over the summer but I buried a healthy limb which produced a new vine for the fall garden. It was an experiment that turned out well – love those! This variety seems better adapted for fall but they didn’t produce much so I don’t think I’ll grow them again until I have a greenhouse structure to protect them over the winter. Perhaps I can use portions of my grocery savings provided by the garden to save up for a green house!
