My garden is taking off! Well for the most part…
Last week I had some little visitors come to Texas and help me plant some watermelon seeds and marigold seeds. It was a fun afternoon project and now we already have some little seedlings!
The only things left to plant are my sweet potatoes and I am working on growing some slips to plant as we speak. Hopefully it works out as planned…
The tomatoes are really going at it! In fact there are some actual little tomatoes taking form on one of my cherry tomato plants. And my pineapple tomatillo plant had some surprises as well.
We have had a good handful of strawberries, but unfortunately little critters like to get to them before we do. Hopefully we will we able to enjoy these ones first.
On another note, my peppers have really been struggling. But I keep trying to fight whatever is ailing them and am hoping they will overcome! They showed a little hope today in the form of a beautiful white flower so fingers crossed…
And lastly these have been unwanted visitors in my garden having a personal feast. Ready for them to go build a cocoon of sorts somewhere and make themselves useful.
In other garden news…
My lime tree has been bursting with blooms and attracting lots of these guys. Hopefully we get lots of fruit from it this year!
The herbs on my patio are also doing quite well and we have been enjoying their addition to our culinary creations.
And we have been promoting our Texas pride with a sole bluebonnet. (It even survived Mabel’s invasive digging in the pot … see the background!)
Can’t wait to show you more updates!
