A few months ago when I was weeding out a flowerbed in my backyard, I discovered a buried treasure. At the time I was not sure if I discovered onions or garlic or leeks or what. All I knew is that it had to be in Allium family.
But I had to wait and see. And lo and behold, I bring you a bountiful supply of garlic! And the picture above isn’t even all the garlic I pulled out, just the ones deemed keepable.
It is a little different than the store-bought variety as it does not have as many cloves. But they are still tasty and I am quite excited about these little treasures!
I let it cure for a couple weeks and am now storing them in my pantry. I’m definitely looking forward to adding them to my favorite dishes.
Lets just say, I won’t have to buy garlic for a while!
