You know it’s organic when there are bugs. Sometimes, lots of bugs. I’ve become more comfortable with their presence and only spray when really necessary and I spray with organic pesticides. Typically, my first defense is to spray with liquid seaweed because it doesn’t taste good to bugs and they will leave my plants along for a while.
One of the families who participates in our Children’s Community Garden noted that she and her son were amazed at the variety of bugs present in his four square foot garden space where he’s growing tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots.
