This is my Grandma Helga’s cucumber salad recipe passed down to me by my mom. We have been eating it for years and we just love it, and there are usually requests from my siblings for my mom to make it for special occasions and when we get together for dinner.

My grandma and grandpa moved here from Germany right after they got married in the 1950’s. One of my favorite things to do is listen to their stories of growing up during the war. Seriously, they are an amazing couple.
Okay, now onto the recipe. The original recipe just calls for cucumbers, however we like to add cherry tomatoes (and when you have quite a few from your garden you just can’t help yourself) and sometimes I even throw in some bell peppers just to shake things up. Oh and I modified the recipe to use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for that superfood kick. Hope you enjoy this family treasure!
