I am excited to share this lush (and rather packed) garden growing in the backyard of my sister-in-law Kayla and her husband Skyler’s house in Oregon. Here is an adorable picture of their little growing family (oh and I definitely recommend checking out her sweet blog as well):
According to Kayla the garden is really her husband’s baby and boasts several types of tomatoes and peppers, eggplant, stevia, broccoli, melon (and/or squash plant… she wasn’t 100% sure since it is all her husband’s). There are also green beans, snap peas, quinoa, parsley, and a giant rhubarb plant that they have already harvested and hacked off twice and still keeps chugging away. (I am thinking some strawberry rhubarb jam might be sweet as a stocking stuffer this year… um, just kidding?)
Skyler got really excited about organic gardening after he took a class this past spring. He built the raised beds himself, researched the type of soil to use and where to order organic seeds. Looks like his research and hard work is really paying off—that is quite a bounty!
Since I won’t be able to make it up there until Christmas Kayla so gratefully took some photos and sent them to me. All of the images below are hers.
