Every summer my family tries to head to Door County, Wisconsin. Unless you live or have lived in the Midwest you wonder why on earth we would head there every year. Well it’s beautiful, it’s relaxing, and my grandparents live there.
This summer was this first time in a while that I was able to head to this part of the country for a family reunion. And we did what do best—eat!
One of the last days we were there we went up to the Shoreline Restaurant in Gills Rock—great sunset location and a great place to dine. My mom ordered their soup du jour and they brought out one of the tastiest soups I have ever tried. So we begged them for their recipe and are thankful they were willing to share it!
I made it this week for the first time and it did not disappoint. Since our friends in Door County were so gracious to share the recipe, I thought I would share it with you. Plus what’s better than a warm hardy soup for dinner as this beautiful autumn weather is setting in? Hope you enjoy!
