Summer is a great time for salsa because the main ingredients are in season and available from your garden, farmers market or grocery store.
Use the amounts I have listed as a general guide. Salsa can be forgiving so experiment with various combinations until you find the perfect version for you. Strong flavors like onion and garlic will be less forgiving than tomatoes and pineapple, just keep that in mind if you’re inspired to get creative.
I made this salsa with onions harvested from my garden and served it with grilled chicken and cilantro rice.
