“The thankful receiver bears a plentiful harvest.”
I don’t usually take the time to reflect about my garden. But this month I have found myself so overwhelmed by the bountiful harvest and feeling so blessed and thankful.
This year I have harvested more from my garden than any other year. I would like to say that it’s because of all my planning and now decent experience, but I have to give credit to the cooler temperatures and record rainfall we have had this spring.
It’s been amazing.
I’ve somehow tricked the squirrels and have been able to harvest the majority of my tomatoes and seem to bring in an overflowing basket every few days or so. I moved around where I planted things like peppers and cucumbers, and this year I harvested my first cucumbers ever (and made pickles!) and have had more peppers than I have known what to do with.
Usually by the end of June things are slowing down in the garden, but I still have melons, squash, cucamelons, tomatoes and peppers still producing away, not even phased by the summer temps.
I love gardening and I love the challenges and the rewards. Usually my focus is on the challenges and planning for what is next. So this month I am slowing down, taking it all in, and being reminded why I love gardening.
So now, folks, I am excited to share photos of all my bounty this month…well the bounty I took the time to document. Many of them I’ve shared on Instagram, but there are some new ones as well. Hope you enjoy!
