“Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it.”
Summer has officially arrived and it’s hot! And my garden is taking notice.
Many things have come and gone like my beans, cucumbers, and ground cherries. But other things like my tomatoes, peppers and herbs are still going strong.
Even with the temps starting to reach the 100s, this might be the first July on record that I haven’t had to water every day. We’ve gotten rain, y’all. Like a lot. The other week while we were up in Colorado for a family reunion, our neighborhood recorded over seven inches of rainfall in one day. Seriously unheard of for this time of year.
But I will gladly take it, and my garden will too!
The tomatoes are still going strong despite the fact they have slowed down a bit and aren’t loving this heat. Lots of new growth, green tomatoes and still picking handfuls of ripe tomatoes every couple of days. Pretty sweet!
So glad I still get to enjoy the ever-changing garden on a daily basis, even if some of the change isn’t so…great. But regardless, check out these highlights from the garden right now.
