This salad is amazing. In fact, I am pretty confident this gets the award as my new all-time favorite salad. It’s kind of like a fancy coleslaw. But a good coleslaw. Like the best.
My sweet friend, Ellen Fagin, made this salad for us soon after our little lady was born. The entire meal she brought us was delicious, but there was something special about this salad. In fact, I kept dreaming about it for weeks after.
Thankfully Ellen is awesome and she shared the recipe with me so I could make it whenever I want. Even better, she said I could share this recipe with you! Here is what Ellen had to say about the recipe.
It’s fairly simple … but this particular one is a family recipe that my mom has made for years. When I asked her about it she told me she originally got the recipe either from my dad’s mom, my Nana, or my Aunt.
This salad is perfect for this time of the year as broccoli, cabbage, and carrots are just getting into season. It is also super easy to put together, and I promise anyone who eats this salad will be thoroughly impressed.
And, of course, if you have broccoli, cabbage, and carrots growing in your garden, feel free to shred those up and use them instead of getting the pre-made mix.
I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
