This year the holiday season was filled with a little more excitement, as it was our first as a family of three. What a wonderful thing to be able to share the wonder and joy of the holidays with my daughter as she celebrated her first Christmas.
Holiday traditions have really been on my mind this year. I’ve been thinking through the traditions I want to pass down to my children, but also thinking about new ones I want to start with our family. It’s been really fun thinking about all of these and I can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to get excited about all of these traditions as well.
And almost by accident I stumbled upon a new recipe that will definitely make it into our holiday recipe must list…butter mints!
I had seen this recipe while browsing Pinterest one day, and these homemade mints intrigued me. So one afternoon I decided to give it a try. And I was hooked. I made them a few more times this holiday season, and I will definitely make them in the years to come. In fact, I hope they become a treat my daughter looks forward to every holiday season.
The recipe comes from Rodale’s Organic Life and I pretty much followed the recipe exactly how it was written so I’m not going to rewrite the recipe here so be sure to check out the link below.
I hope you enjoy these homemade mints as much as our family did this holiday season! And because I couldn’t help myself, here is a photo from our Christmas celebration.
