Stephanie Peterson from The Candid Pastor’s Wife is on the blog again sharing some more of her mad DIY skills. This time she brings us a super informative video on how to make citrus oil using leftover orange peels. Citrus oil is a great pest deterrent in your yard and garden, and, even better, it is all natural. I know I will totally be making some and will gladly be saying “goodbye” to all those mosquitos in my yard! Added bonus…ants hate citrus too!
You step out into your lovely yard to enjoy the cool evening air. You think, “I might even eat dinner out here tonight!” But then, ouch! Smack. Mosquitos.
Several years ago, my husband and I lived in a very shady yard in Dallas. You could see the clouds of mosquitos coming at you in the evenings.
In searching for an organic solution, I read about citrus oil. It seemed simple, so I tried it. We both noticed an immediate difference! Within a month, we could enjoy our yard again.
I put together a quick video to show you how to make your own citrus oil. You only need to spray the homemade solution every couple of weeks, and a jug might even last you most of the summer.
